Great Unit So Far, April 9, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Kenwood DNX6990HD 6.1" Double Din Navigation/DVD Receiver with Bluetooth/HD Radio and Pandora Control for iPhone (Electronics) Well, I wanted a nav unit for the first time, and after scouring the internet and reading sparse information available on such a new unit, I pulled the trigger and ordered it. After installing and tweaking the settings to my liking, I can comfortably say that I am happy with my purchase. The unit so far hasn't reset on me like I've read elsewhere, the sound quality is great - I even had to turn the gains down on my amp as the fronts were so loud that I couldn't hear the rears coming off the deck (this is coming from a Kenwood Excelon x693) so I guess the preout voltage is more than adequate.
+ The menus are plenty speedy enough with little lag, and switching sources is plenty quick and seamless.
+ The navigation works okay, but I'll know more as time goes on. It gets a fix pretty quickly.
+ The satellite/hd radio works great, sound quality is much better than the stock head unit.
+ Bluetooth synced with my android phone no problems.

Can only use some of the advertised features, July 8, 2012 This review is from: Kenwood DNX6990HD 6.1" Double Din Navigation/DVD Receiver with Bluetooth/HD Radio and Pandora Control for iPhone (Electronics) Pay very close attention to what you really want to do with this unit because you will only be able to do 1/2 of what you want. If you want to use your iPod with all the functions or use video you have to get the additional cable. If you get the additional cable you now can't update the software or install background photos because the usb cable must be available. The customer support solution: unhook the iPod cable to use the usb port. Uh, the cable is wired inside the dash and up to the center console. Ok, pull the radio out of the dash. Yeah right, uninstall the unit every time you need an update. Oh, and the really brilliant thing, the micro sd slot ONLY updates the gps maps. Yep, can't use that to update the software. The people who designed this were really geniuses.
